Things to do around Kingston

London might be only 35 minutes away by train, but there are also several things to in and around Kingston Upon Thames itself. The Penrhyn Road campus is very close to the Thames River, making it convenient to drop into one of the many riverside pubs or restaurants.

  • Visit Hampton Court Palace, with its fascinating buildings and famous gardens, is only a bus- or boat ride away.
  • Take a riverboat to Hampton Court Palace, or to Richmond
  • Take a walk in historic Bushy Park (various entrances, including opposite Hampton Court’s Lion Gate entrance or via Church Grove, Hampton Wick) (near Kingston Bridge). The walk from the Church Grove entrance to the Diana Fountain area (close to the exit towards Hampton Court Palace) takes about 30 minutes.
  • Shop in Kingston’s large variety of shops, and eat at one of its many restaurants.
  • Find out more about the history of Kingston, by visiting the
    Kingston Museum
